
Senior Project Manager – Utility Interconnection Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +3 more states.
• Oversees and manages the complete lifecycle from customer applications to energization.
• Acts as the main coordinator among engineering, construction, regulatory, and customer-facing work streams to ensure the compliant, efficient, and reliable integration of renewable generation into the grid.
• Manages the interconnection application pipeline and propels projects through studies, agreements, and approvals in a timely manner.
• Serves as the primary liaison for Commercial and Industrial customers seeking interconnections.
• Aligns engineering, compliance, and construction teams with FERC, NERC, and state PUC requirements.
• Monitors program health metrics and provides reports to leadership, utilizing tools such as Power BI dashboards and work trackers.
• Aids business development by engaging in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract formulation.
• Reviews awarded projects to define scope, establish work procedures/sequences, and develop schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists, and progress billing points.
• Meets with client management as needed throughout the project to address issues and secure approvals upon project completion.
• Maintains ongoing business relationships with clients as part of continuous business development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, communicates, and coordinates project engagements effectively.
• Manages the daily activities of project engagements involving clients and project teams.
• Achieves project objectives including quality, scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Analyzes project performance and resource utilization.
• Identifies potential out-of-scope work.
• Manages and negotiates contract change orders.
• Identifies and mitigates project risks from the proposal phase through the project's duration.
• Trains, mentors, and supervises other Project Managers and participates in portfolio and project reviews.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Power Delivery Industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with interconnection projects.
• Strong understanding of financial management.
• Proven capabilities and success in managing large multi-disciplinary programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comprehensive understanding of various types of power delivery projects (transmission, substation, distribution).
• Excellent skills in relationship development and management.
• Bachelor of Science in engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred but not mandatory).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred but not mandatory).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred but not mandatory).
