Senior Project Manager – Mine Water Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead and provide guidance on the performance (scope, schedule, and cost) of water management and treatment projects for clients in the mining sector.

• Create an integrated engineering project schedule, including identifying the critical path for all tasks and activities required to effectively implement projects.

• Collaborate with clients and resource managers to ensure that resources and dependencies are properly identified and allocated to the project.

• Oversee the progression from conceptual water treatment design to detailed design stages for clients, including vendor packages and the balance of plant scopes.

• Ensure that assigned resources are executing tasks as planned.

• Provide tracking and reporting in line with the project plan and develop recovery plans as necessary.

• Conduct or oversee analyses of project financial performance, ensuring on-budget delivery and effective change management.

• Assist in risk analysis with project management and handle complex project delivery alongside technical risks.

• Monitor and advocate for environmental health and worker safety.

• Mentor junior and intermediate members of the project team.

• Lead the creation of technical deliverables and programs in areas of specialization.

• Conduct senior reviews of technical deliverables and programs in areas of expertise.

• Provide expert input and oversight on the development of field investigations in areas of specialization.

• Complete additional projects, reports, and tasks as assigned.

• Carry out any other related duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred, with alternatives including science, construction management, or a relevant technical field.

• At least 10 years of experience in project management.

• Experience in an environmental consulting or project consulting environment is considered an asset.

• Proven experience in delivering complex projects that involve a combination of engineering and technical services, such as treatment systems design and construction, particularly in northern and/or remote mining environments.

• Project Management Professional Certification and/or Professional Engineer designation are preferred.
