Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction, oversight, risk management, and accountability for a portfolio of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

• Build and lead a team of project managers.

• Supervise projects from preconstruction to commercial operations.

• Develop project and risk management execution strategies, governance frameworks, and performance expectations.

• Guide project teams to meet safety, schedule, budget, quality, and operational readiness goals.

• Oversee construction, commissioning, and project handover.

• Monitor contractor performance and enforce EPC, subcontractor, and supplier obligations.

• Review and authorize significant decisions impacting cost, schedule, scope, and risk.

• Lead the resolution of critical project challenges and escalations.

• Maintain executive accountability for budgets, forecasts, commitments, and contingency management.

• Lead contract negotiations to ensure alignment with company governance.

• Report on project financials and support investment committees, executive leadership, and board reporting.

• Advocate for safety and environmental stewardship across project sites.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project execution.

• Serve as the executive liaison with contractors, suppliers, owner representatives, and strategic partners.

• Deliver executive-level presentations and updates to senior leadership and governing bodies.

• Recruit, train, mentor, develop, and guide project managers.

• Coordinate project handover with operations and asset management teams.

• Oversee commissioning, performance testing, commercial operation milestones, closeout processes, and lessons learned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field is required.

• Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in large-scale industrial, power generation, renewable energy, or infrastructure construction.

• More than 6 years of leadership experience in managing complex construction organizations and project teams.

• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing a portfolio (500MW+) of utility-scale renewable energy projects from preconstruction to commercial operation.

• Proven success in delivering utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, transmission, or heavy civil projects with a value exceeding $100 million.

• Experience in negotiating and managing EPC contracts, Turbine Supply agreements, and BESS Supply agreements.

• In-depth knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of permitting, design, construction, commissioning, and financing activities related to utility-scale renewable energy projects.

• Strong grasp of budgeting, forecasting, project controls, and risk management.

• Expertise in contract negotiation, claims management, and commercial strategy.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation capabilities.

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and achieve results in a matrixed and dynamic environment.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.

• Capability to visit and navigate active construction sites.

• Ability to comply with PPE and site safety regulations.

• Current authorization to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
