• Take ownership of intricate, multi-departmental projects that encompass Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Technology from inception through execution.
• Make significant decisions regarding scope, approach, and trade-offs that influence how the work is executed, rather than merely following a predetermined plan.
• Convert strategic priorities into well-structured plans that include clear scope, responsible parties, timelines, and definitions of completion.
• Manage the operational aspects of your projects, including working sessions, status updates, risk tracking, and decision documentation, with the discipline that instills confidence in leadership that the work is under control.
• Step into uncertain or high-pressure scenarios to resolve conflicts, reallocate resources, and ensure critical deadlines remain on schedule.
• Evaluate the business logic of the projects you lead, focusing on unit economics, portfolio performance, operational trade-offs, and the foundational assumptions to verify that the work is driving the desired results.
• Develop the analytical groundwork for recommendations, not just the presentation that accompanies them.
• Link daily execution to broader business outcomes; comprehend and communicate the importance of the work, define what success looks like in quantifiable terms, and identify when an initiative requires rescoping or cessation.
• Provide clear briefings to executives regarding the current status, potential risks, and necessary decisions.
• Navigate intricate stakeholder relationships using influence rather than authority to foster alignment between Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Compliance.
• Bring business logic into technical discussions, as many credit and operations decisions are eventually executed through code, necessitating fluency for productive conversations with Engineering on scope, trade-offs, and timelines.
• Collaborate with Finance on the analytical foundation of your initiatives, including assumptions, forecasts, and the financial narrative behind the work.
• Embrace and enhance the cadences, templates, and reporting systems established by the PMO, improving them through your usage rather than simply adding to them.
• Contribute to elevating the standard of rigor across teams that are still developing their project management practices, leading by example instead of through mandates.
• Over 5 years of experience in business operations, strategic finance, business transformation, credit strategy, operations strategy, management consulting, chief of staff roles, investment banking/PE, or a similar position where you had substantial strategic ownership rather than just project administration.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• A proven history of managing large, cross-functional projects in complex environments.
• Experience in bringing structure to teams that have previously operated without formal frameworks, along with the change-management skills to achieve this without inciting resistance.
• Preferred: experience in auto lending or more broadly in consumer lending, with familiarity in the lifecycle (originations, credit, servicing) being a significant advantage.
• Great Perks – We provide generous salaries, competitive health and welfare benefits, paid vacation, a 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, quarterly social outings, monthly lunches, a strong employee recognition program, and training development opportunities to advance your career with us.
