This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure the effective delivery of transmission line designs.
• Maintain the project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Execute daily project tasks to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare specification packages.
• Create structural and fabrication drawings.
• Design and analyze transmission lines utilizing PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower.
• Design and analyze foundations.
• Evaluate existing and proposed structures in light of client requirements, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Conduct electrical clearance checks and calculations.
• Assist in the design of Power Delivery projects.
• Develop engineering methods, standards, and guidelines.
• Offer technical guidance and serve as a resource for engineers and designers.
• Directly manage projects without restrictions on the number or value of projects.
• Supervise large or multidisciplinary project teams.
• Recommend personnel and budgetary needs for projects.
• Manage technical, legal, and financial aspects of entire projects.
• Create project management plans and define project objectives and requirements.
• Support quality control and assurance through peer and final reviews.
• Train engineers and designers in quality control processes.
• Implement plans for staff development.
• Develop design alternatives while considering requirements, constraints, community feedback, permitting, and regulations.
• Integrate advanced concepts to address complex engineering challenges.
• Negotiate critical issues and maintain extensive connections with engineers, officials, organizations, and companies.
• 18+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in engineering and design of electric utility transmission lines.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is necessary.
• Valid Driver's License.
• In-depth knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design.
• Strong technical, communication, computer, written, and verbal skills.
• Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Capability to apply engineering principles to practical problems.
• Skilled in performing complex tasks through established processes.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and lead projects effectively.
• Familiarity with engineering economics, risk analysis, and legal issues pertinent to engineering practice.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower is preferred/considered a bonus.
• Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
