Senior Project Engineer, Commissioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee project commissioning: Supervise and implement all phases of commissioning from design evaluation to post-construction, offering technical guidance and field supervision for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Create commissioning documentation: Develop comprehensive commissioning strategies, specifications, activity timelines, and sequences of work in accordance with ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED standards.

• Conduct field operations: Direct thorough on-site commissioning activities including equipment assessments, startup supervision, functional performance evaluations, integrated systems testing, and seasonal/performance validation.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration: Work alongside internal teams, consultants, and contractors; lead commissioning meetings to guarantee effective communication among stakeholders and alignment on project goals.

• Execute technical assessments: Perform detailed reviews of design drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure systems comply with project specifications and to identify any potential challenges.

• Carry out systems evaluations: Employ calibrated testing instruments (flow hoods, thermal imaging cameras, power quality analyzers, anemometers) to assess and confirm the functionality of HVAC, building automation, plumbing, lighting controls, and emergency power systems.

• Provide project documentation: Create and maintain issue logs, compile systems manuals, design training programs for operations personnel, and offer thorough support for all commissioning documentation necessities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A recognized technical degree from a university or an equivalent qualification. An Engineering Degree is preferred.

• Significant experience utilizing mechanical testing instruments and equipment for analyzing and reporting test outcomes, including portable data loggers, air flow meters, TAB reports, etc.

• At least 5+ years of pertinent mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience.

• Strong data management capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Proven experience in coordinating and organizing multiple project timelines simultaneously.
