Senior Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical implementation and detailed engineering of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems for upgrading biogas to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG).

• Act as the primary technical liaison throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Assess, validate, and authorize process designs, P&IDs, PFDs, and mass/energy balances.

• Evaluate mechanical drawings, skid layouts, 3D models, piping designs, and structural requirements.

• Define technical specifications, datasheets, and design criteria for key system components.

• Manage technical assessments of supplier proposals and collaborate with equipment manufacturers.

• Ensure vendor deliverables align with quality, schedule, and performance standards.

• Supervise equipment manufacturing, shop assembly, and skid fabrication processes.

• Confirm build quality, structural soundness, and compliance with engineering designs and ASME/API codes.

• Guarantee that designs and fabrication adhere to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, environmental standards, as well as ASME, NFPA, NEC, and API codes.

• Collaborate with client teams, project management, field service engineers, and commissioning staff.

• Address technical challenges during fabrication, site installation, and startup phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• A degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

• 5–10 years of engineering experience is required, ideally in biogas, Renewable Natural Gas, Process Gas, or related fields.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.

• Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and other engineering documentation.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Strong root cause analysis and critical thinking skills required.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, UNISIM, and AVEVA is advantageous.

• Previous experience in the biogas and RNG industry is a plus.

• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.

• A comprehensive background check must be passed.

• A drug test must be cleared prior to commencing work.

• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S.; employer participates in E-Verify.
