This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take charge of cost control and forecasting for a range of capital construction projects, which includes developing budgets, tracking commitments, forecasting costs to complete, and analyzing variances.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams to create and maintain integrated project schedules; monitor progress, pinpoint critical path risks, and communicate schedule implications to leadership.
• Create and sustain earned value management (EVM) reporting to offer real-time insights into project performance compared to cost and schedule baselines.
• Generate weekly and monthly project control reports for Finance and executive leadership, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Oversee change control procedures: monitor change orders, evaluate cost and schedule impacts, and ensure that all changes are documented and updated in the baselines.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Accounts Payable to guarantee that contractor invoices, purchase orders, and accruals are accurately coded and consistent with project budgets.
• Detect trends, risks, and opportunities within the project portfolio; proactively identify issues before they escalate into cost or schedule overruns.
• Enhance and standardize project control tools, templates, and processes throughout Giga's expanding project portfolio.
• A minimum of 5 years of project controls experience on substantial capital projects in sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, utilities, or industrial fields.
• Expertise in cost management and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar) along with advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Solid understanding of earned value management principles and their implementation in capital project reporting.
• Proven experience in developing cost forecasts, managing change control, and creating executive-level project performance reports.
• Capability to work effectively with Engineering, Construction, and Finance stakeholders, translating technical project data into financial terms and vice versa.
• High level of analytical precision with the ability to handle large, intricate datasets accurately.
• Excellent communicator who can clearly and succinctly present financial and scheduling risks to senior leadership.
