• Lead and manage the technical deliverables related to the design, construction, and commissioning of Plus Power’s BESS projects in partnership with third-party engineering and EPC firms.
• Provide support to the EPC Leadership Team on a wide range of matters concerning supplier and contractor management across various equipment vendors and construction firms.
• Collaborate with the Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams in defining, reviewing, negotiating, and executing interconnection agreements.
• Assist in the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages for EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
• Aid the EPC Procurement team in developing and issuing project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow projections, and technical contract requirements.
• Participate in meetings with various project stakeholders, including developers, contractors, consultants, and utility companies.
• Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction to support a range of project-related tasks and activities.
• Contribute to permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries as requested by the internal development team.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a specialization in Power Engineering.
• 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement/contracting, and construction management, particularly in the power generation, utility, and transmission sectors.
• Proficiency in the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems.
• Experience in leading projects in a cross-functional team from initial feasibility assessments to late-stage development, design, engineering, and construction.
• Understanding of essential project development components, including real property, permitting, regulatory issues, environmental compliance, interconnection, transmission, and related fields.
• Knowledge of market dynamics concerning major equipment, engineering services, construction services, and labor.
• Strong grasp of the battery energy storage value proposition and/or the engineering principles behind battery energy storage projects.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently with flexibility.
• Supportive, resourceful, and ready to take on new responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills that are persuasive, clear, and concise.
• Creative and independent thinker with proven capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, fast-paced, and geographically dispersed team environment.
• Proficient in the Microsoft suite of tools and applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Skilled in AutoCAD or equivalent software, including Revu Bluebeam.
• Willingness to travel intermittently, up to approximately 30% throughout the year.
