This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Assisting in the execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing the resilience of civil society and independent media within the region.
• Developing and nurturing connections with civil society organizations, social enterprises, and independent media entities across the region.
• Crafting and implementing strategies to broaden and diversify our network of NGO and social enterprise members in the area.
• Facilitating the involvement of pro-bono legal service providers in the region to reinforce TrustLaw’s networks.
• Overseeing the TrustLaw service, which includes recruiting and vetting new members, gathering feedback, addressing inquiries, updating databases, and generating reports.
• Managing pro bono requests by connecting clients with lawyers, collecting feedback, and following up with all parties involved.
• Contributing to the global annual strategy of TrustLaw and assisting in the execution of a regional strategy aimed at expanding and activating TrustLaw membership, ensuring service to the best NGOs, social enterprises, and independent media organizations, alongside the strongest law firms and corporate in-house legal teams.
• Implementing a comprehensive communications, engagement, and outreach strategy that encompasses member events, promotion of TrustLaw publications, and newsletters.
• Upholding a prominent profile for TrustLaw in Europe by attending, supporting, and coordinating events for TrustLaw and the Thomson Reuters Foundation, including public speaking on our initiatives at panels, roundtables, discussions, workshops, training sessions, conferences, or other speaking engagements.
• Assisting with additional tasks as necessary and providing surge capacity support.
• 2-3 years of experience in the NGO, social enterprise, or social impact sectors;
• A solid understanding of the NGO, social enterprise, and social impact sectors in Europe;
• Experience in delivering donor-funded projects, along with project management or coordination;
• A strong grasp of the legal services sector and pro-bono legal work is highly advantageous;
• Previous experience addressing issues related to media freedom, responsible business, digital rights, or human rights would be beneficial;
• Experience in service delivery within the NGO sector is highly desirable;
• Exceptional time management and organizational abilities, including the capability to effectively and independently manage multiple matters and projects in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – capable of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both internally and externally with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds;
• A dynamic, ambitious, and creative mindset;
• Familiarity with Salesforce is favorable, while experience with databases is essential;
• Experience in organizing events or training sessions would be advantageous;
• Proficiency in English is required, with additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German) being a plus;
• Willingness to travel internationally;
• Pre-existing right to work in Spain.
