Senior Program Manager, Data Interoperability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of 8 to 12 programmers and collaborate with other programming leads to distribute workloads effectively.

• Engage in Center Leadership meetings and contribute to the strategic development of the Division and Center.

• Encourage employee advancement by regularly meeting with each team member to discuss current projects, upcoming opportunities, proposals, scientific contributions, and workload management.

• Act as the technical lead for Medicare claims processing and analytics projects.

• Offer architectural direction on data management, programming standards, and system design.

• Guide junior and mid-level programmers in Python development, software engineering principles, and healthcare data methodologies.

• Work in partnership with statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, and policy researchers to convert analytic requirements into production-ready solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and set quality assurance standards for essential healthcare applications.

• Assist in proposal creation by formulating technical strategies for large-scale healthcare data systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience.

• Proven expertise in Python and SQL programming within a production environment.

• Experience in designing and maintaining intricate workflows, issue schemas, permission models, and governance frameworks in JIRA.

• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies, DevOps practices, and project management frameworks.

• Background in managing or leading complex tasks on projects for federal agencies such as CMS, CDC, and FDA.

• Experience leading programming teams, preferably in a Lead Project Programmer role or equivalent technical leadership position.
