This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Attract and underwrite middle market business.
• Implement effective account management while developing strong relationships with agency partners.
• Execute underwriting strategies to meet profit and premium objectives.
• Manage a renewal book within the assigned territory.
• Aid in resolving escalated issues and provide mentoring and coaching to team members.
• Assess risk in relation to exposures and controls.
• Establish appropriate terms and conditions to achieve a profitable portfolio.
• Document assigned files with a clear underwriting thought process.
• Act as a subject matter expert to assist team members with complex risks.
• Meet production targets within the designated territory.
• Handle marketing responsibilities, including in-person and virtual sales calls with agencies and insured parties.
• Identify and cultivate a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure effective stakeholder management.
• Provide insights to management on the current marketplace conditions, agencies, and competition.
• Support and engage in the rollout of technical underwriting training and content.
• Preferred: Four-year college degree.
• Preferred: Completion of or progress towards AU, CIC, and/or CPCU designations.
• Preferred: Over 5 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Advanced skills in risk evaluation and knowledge of insurance contracts.
• Ability to execute the current underwriting strategy for the assigned territory to make sound underwriting decisions.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while efficiently prioritizing and completing tasks.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build a high level of trust with internal and external partners.
