Senior Production Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assesses and underwrites both new and renewal business in line with the Company's underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.

• Reviews risk information to make well-informed decisions regarding coverage, pricing, and terms.

• Works collaboratively with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify details.

• Requests additional reports and screenings, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, and outside inspections, to guide decisions.

• Ensures thorough documentation of underwriting decisions and adherence to state and federal insurance regulations.

• Evaluates current policies for potential renewal or modification opportunities.

• Clearly and effectively communicates underwriting decisions to internal teams, agents, and brokers.

• Keeps abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.

• Cultivates and sustains strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to attract and retain profitable business.

• Interprets, explains, and promotes the Company's products and services.

• Develops and implements marketing strategies to enhance the promotion of the Company’s products to brokers and agents.

• Monitors market trends and competition to uncover opportunities for product enhancements and marketing strategies.

• Organizes and engages in marketing initiatives, including presentations, industry events, and broker/agent meetings to highlight products and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Typically, a minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting California Workers’ Compensation.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Proficient negotiation and decision-making skills.

• Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and tools is advantageous.
