
Senior Product Strategist, Product Owner Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate with project and client leadership as well as product teams to formulate product strategies, roadmaps, implementation plans, and decision-making frameworks.
• Drive strategic initiatives that enhance the discoverability, accessibility, usability, and overall value of digital products, research resources, and information services.
• Facilitate collaboration across various stakeholders, subject matter experts, technical teams, product owners, and program leadership.
• Aid in the development, maturation, and adoption of product ownership practices across a range of products and services.
• Create and sustain product management and product owner toolkits that encompass policies, procedures, templates, governance models, metrics guidance, and product documentation.
• Mentor product owners and teams in product ownership principles, agile and scrum methodologies, backlog management, prioritization, roadmap development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Integrate with product teams to offer hands-on support in agile leadership, evaluation planning, knowledge management, and team operating rhythms.
• Establish product goals, success metrics, KPIs, indicators, and evaluation strategies.
• Create qualitative and quantitative evaluation frameworks to assess product effectiveness, user adoption, value, impact, and return on investment.
• Examine user, stakeholder, operational, and performance data to produce actionable recommendations.
• Assist with product reviews, performance reporting, management briefings, and strategic planning processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Public Administration, Information Science, Library and Information Science, Health Informatics, Data Science, Program Management, STEM, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in product strategy, product management, product ownership, digital transformation, program management, evaluation, or organizational change initiatives.
• More than 5 years of experience in supporting product owners using Agile, Scrum, Lean, Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design, or Product Management frameworks.
• At least 3 years of experience in translating organizational priorities, user needs, and stakeholder feedback into actionable product strategies and implementation plans.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilitation, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and consensus-building.
• Over 3 years of experience in establishing product metrics, KPIs, indicators, evaluation objectives, and reporting frameworks.
• Proven ability to foster collaboration among technical, scientific, operational, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in supporting federal government, healthcare, biomedical research, scientific, library, or information management organizations.
• Familiarity with complex information systems, research data platforms, digital libraries, metadata systems, content ecosystems, or public-facing digital services.
• Preferred certifications include CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, PMI-ACP, PMP, or Prosci Change Management.
