This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +4 more states.
• Lead design initiatives to ensure optimal operational availability, reliability, and minimal life-cycle maintenance costs of Plug Power Electrolyzer systems throughout product development and initial customer deployments.
• Establish and sustain expert-level technical knowledge and service documentation concerning product operation, performance, and maintenance.
• Accountable for essential service deliverables during the development and initial deployment phases of new products.
• Assist with both internal and external troubleshooting efforts during operations, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in case of equipment malfunctions.
• Oversee the development and validation of service engineering deliverables during the introduction of new products.
• Specify maintenance protocols, spare parts plans, and tools & equipment necessary for supporting and servicing new products.
• Travel to customer sites to execute technical tasks such as system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and repairs as necessary.
• Create and deliver technical training for internal personnel, including on-site Service Technicians.
• Act as a representative of service engineering in customer interactions to fulfill their requirements regarding equipment maintenance and support.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, or controls engineering.
• Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
• Prior experience with medium and/or high voltage systems and/or power electronics is preferred.
• Experience with system controls (e.g., PLC, embedded) is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel as required to perform job duties – approximately 30 to 50%, based on product development program demands.
• Mechanical and electrical system proficiency to comprehend system operations, diagnose failure modes and causes, and resolve issues.
• Competence in analyzing engineering data and troubleshooting operational performance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and other relevant project diagrams.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Capability to manage complex projects and effectively multi-task.
• Strong follow-through skills.
• Must possess a driven and self-motivated attitude.
