Senior Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Responsible for managing the backlog strategy and prioritization for a significant or intricate product area, ensuring a balance between customer needs, business objectives, and technical limitations.

• Guide a small to medium-sized cross-functional team through the phases of discovery, planning, and delivery at the module level with minimal supervision.

• Establish a benchmark for high-quality epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; implement backlog practices and Definition of Done standards for the team.

• Act as an escalation point for complex requirements, dependencies, and delivery risks.

• Coach, mentor, and evaluate the work of Associate Product Owners and Product Owners; share best practices and enhance team skills.

• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and UX to sequence complex initiatives and address trade-off decisions.

• Engage directly with government clients and stakeholders to confirm direction and shape release plans.

• Propel cross-functional initiatives and process enhancements that boost delivery predictability and quality.

• Define and track product health and delivery metrics; recommend adjustments based on data-driven insights.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or business analysis.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven success in leading cross-functional delivery from discovery to adoption.

• Extensive Agile/SDLC expertise; proficient in JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Figma; advanced skills in AI productivity tools (Claude, ChatPRD, Copilot).

• Experience in the public sector or gov-tech domain is strongly preferred (tax administration, short-term rental, revenue management, or payments).

• Strong understanding of technical components (APIs, Middleware, Services, SQL).
