Senior Product Manager – Unified Data Fabric

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop the product strategy, platform roadmap, and lifecycle for Octopai in alignment with Cloudera’s overarching Unified Data Fabric vision.

• Establish functional requirements, architectural benchmarks, and reusable product patterns for metadata integration, automated lineage, and data governance.

• Take ownership of technical product validation across significant enterprise use cases, ensuring scalability, security, and enterprise-grade performance.

• Work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Sales, and Product Marketing to convert field insights and customer challenges into roadmap features.

• Create standardized product design patterns, API capabilities, and developer documentation.

• Define, monitor, and enhance product adoption and performance metrics.

• Act as the primary product authority in strategic customer engagements, executive briefings, and market events.

• Create feedback mechanisms between field engineering, enterprise customers, and core R&D teams to improve product performance and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of progressive product management experience, or equivalent technical domain leadership.

• Expertise in constructing enterprise data platforms, data governance, or metadata management products.

• Profound technical understanding of data fabric architecture, automated data lineage, metadata platforms, graph technologies, and enterprise data governance frameworks.

• Proven success in defining requirements for scalable distributed systems, enterprise APIs, and intricate data integrations.

• Demonstrated capability to influence and align cross-functional engineering, architecture, and go-to-market teams without direct authority.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and strategic narratives.

• Strong customer-facing presence with experience in leading high-stakes technical product discussions with enterprise leaders.

• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
