This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Develop and oversee Tala’s long-term product strategy and roadmap focusing on fraud prevention, customer authentication, identity, and associated risk capabilities.
• Spot opportunities to enhance fraud prevention during signup, login, account management, and other high-risk customer activities.
• Achieve a balance between fraud prevention and customer experience by minimizing fraud losses and false positives while reducing unnecessary friction.
• Convert intricate fraud patterns, emerging attack vectors, and business requirements into straightforward product strategies and priorities.
• Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics to establish model objectives, assess model and feature performance, and enhance detection capabilities.
• Set appropriate fraud decision thresholds and rules based on data analytics and business goals.
• Establish and track key metrics such as fraud loss rates, detection accuracy, false-positive rates, customer conversion rates, and authentication success.
• Enhance the data and infrastructure necessary for making effective fraud decisions.
• Work together on fraud detection models, rules, feature infrastructure, and decision-making systems.
• Clarify ambiguous fraud and authentication challenges into defined product specifications.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams and partners to implement the product roadmap.
• Prioritize projects based on customer impact, fraud risk, business value, technical complexity, and data insights.
• Enhance the scalability and reliability of Tala’s fraud and authentication infrastructure.
• Propel initiatives from strategy and discovery through to launch, measurement, and iteration.
• Examine fraud incidents and emerging fraud trends, translating lessons into proactive product and system advancements.
• Forge partnerships across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Lending, Finance, Customer Care, Marketing, and Legal teams.
• Articulate complex fraud and risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners focused on fraud, authentication, identity, or risk capabilities.
• Create alignment among distributed global teams and drive decisions in the face of incomplete or ambiguous information.
• Over 5 years of Product Management experience, particularly in overseeing complex technical products or platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in building or managing products related to fraud, risk, authentication, identity, KYC, account security, payments, lending, or financial crime.
• Proven track record of closely collaborating with Engineering and Data Science teams to develop fraud detection, risk decisioning, authentication, or identity solutions.
• Experience utilizing data and metrics to inform product decisions and evaluate outcomes.
• Familiarity with managing fraud incidents, identifying emerging fraud patterns, or addressing other significant risk events.
• Capability to translate complex and ambiguous challenges into clear product specifications and actionable roadmaps.
• Experience overseeing external vendors or technology partners.
• Strong leadership and communication skills across various functions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed, and highly collaborative environment.
