This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Define and take ownership of the product roadmap for key aspects of the Energy Utility Platform — including market access, flexibility marketing, procurement, and the optimization layer that links devices to markets — with an emphasis on execution and measurable results.
• Be actively involved in execution: drafting specifications, conducting discovery sprints, prioritizing backlogs, and managing engineering releases — this role is not solely strategic.
• Shape the future of energy products: direct marketing, broadened flexibility participation, and innovative market access solutions for customers, while tackling the regulatory and infrastructure challenges necessary for implementation.
• Collaborate closely with Energy Operations (domain experts, regulatory frameworks) and engineering to ensure that product decisions are aligned with market realities.
• Navigate intricate regulatory landscapes (German energy market, MaKo, grid tariff structures, billing) and convert them into actionable product requirements.
• Balance product vision with the capability to address complex infrastructure issues — both aspects are essential.
• Report to the Director of Product Heartbeat AI and contribute to strategic decisions regarding the portfolio.
• Over 3 years of product management experience with a focus on energy, utilities, or regulated platforms/infrastructure products.
• Proven success in launching intricate features from inception to completion, demonstrating measurable results.
• Strong grasp of energy markets, tariff systems, energy trading, or energy retail operations — this knowledge is essential, not optional.
• Experience leading platform or product development within regulated environments — coordinating among engineering teams and navigating regulatory limitations.
• Excellent analytical skills: capable of making informed decisions based on data and product metrics.
• Effective stakeholder communication: able to confidently engage with engineering, commercial, and operations teams.
• Outstanding English communication skills; proficiency in German is a significant advantage (many stakeholders communicate in German).
• Willing to reside in Germany or relocate — this position necessitates presence in the German energy market context.
• Openness to working in a fast-paced, changing environment where ambiguity is commonplace.
• Optional: experience in energy markets, flexibility marketing, or balancing markets (TSO/DSO interaction, planning, balancing pool management).
• Be part of an international, dynamic, and highly motivated team.
• Directly influence our climate objectives.
• Collaborate with and learn from exceptionally talented colleagues.
• Gain direct exposure to decision-makers.
• Excellent opportunities to join one of the fastest-growing scaleups in Europe.
• Flexible working arrangements (across Germany) with offices located in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich.
• A healthy work-life balance and access to all EGYM Wellpass benefits.
• Access to benefits and discounts via Futurebens.
• Flexibility through our job-bike leasing program.
