Senior Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with AI scientists, engineers, and the AI Product Manager to define the requirements for the data platform, addressing current and future data needs such as training data volume, diversity requirements, annotation quality standards, and the composition of evaluation datasets.

• Serve as the guardian of the data platform roadmap, prioritizing investments in data ingestion, storage, labeling tools, dataset versioning, quality monitoring, and access controls in accordance with model development milestones.

• Work alongside data engineering teams to specify, assess, and enhance pipelines that gather, process, and curate video, language, and interaction data utilized for training and evaluating ASL/English translation models.

• Direct the annotation and labeling strategy by partnering with internal language teams, contributors from the Deaf community, and external vendors to create scalable, high-quality data annotation workflows that adhere to research-grade standards.

• Develop data governance and quality frameworks by defining standards for dataset completeness, demographic representation, labeling consistency, and lineage tracking, ensuring datasets are auditable, bias-aware, and responsibly managed.

• Collaborate with the AI Product Manager to convert model quality gaps and feedback signals into specific priorities for data acquisition, augmentation, or re-annotation.

• Influence platform tool decisions by evaluating, selecting, or constructing annotation platforms, data cataloging tools, and dataset management systems that cater to the needs of a production AI research environment.

• Uphold ethical data practices, including informed consent processes for data contributors, privacy-preserving data handling, and compliance with relevant regulations governing the collection and use of biometric and linguistic data.

• Monitor platform performance and usage, establishing metrics for pipeline reliability and data quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 2 years of product management experience focusing on AI/ML-powered products in production environments.

• Strong capability to bridge technical AI/ML concepts with customer-facing product requirements.

• Proficient in defining and analyzing model quality metrics; familiar with concepts like precision/recall, benchmark evaluation, bias analysis, and A/B testing.

• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executives.

• Competence with standard productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Confluence, JIRA, or similar).

• Familiarity with data and ML tooling environments (e.g., dashboards, model evaluation platforms, annotation tools) is preferred.
