This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the strategy and roadmap for Conduct’s agentic and platform capabilities, including the API, MCP, and headless workflow surfaces designed for both human users and AI agents on a cohesive workflow layer and audit trail.
• Define the API surface as a product, including elements such as alert queues, review actions, reason-code taxonomies, workflow configuration, and the programmatic contracts utilized by agents. These are product decisions, not engineering tasks.
• Develop the extensibility model, detailing how advanced customers and external or agentic systems can leverage the platform, along with developer-facing documentation and packaging that delineates subscription tiers, usage-based pricing, and premium offerings.
• Collaborate with the AI/ML product team to define the interface between the intelligence layer and the workflow layer accessed by agents, ensuring a clean workflow contract where the Conduct workflow layer is driven by the underlying intelligence layer.
• Treat non-functional requirements as primary product requirements, including scale, performance, reliability, and the security standards demanded by Tier 1 financial institutions. Prioritize security, telemetry, and reliability as key product components.
• Convert the diligence and regulatory scrutiny of major banks into a robust non-functional roadmap. In a compliance-oriented product, any gaps pose significant risks.
• Establish product requirements for agentic workflows such as review, analyst assist, auto-sampling, and automation, operating on the same behavioral data asset and audit trail as human users.
• Ensure every action taken by an agent is documented, explainable, and defensible to the same level as an analyst’s decision, maintaining an audit trail that can withstand regulatory examination.
• Collaborate with Engineering on capacity management, release readiness, and operational discipline, providing specifications that are thorough enough for engineering to build without requiring further clarification.
• Work closely with AI/ML, Data Science, Professional Services, and Customer Experience to convert customer challenges into actionable priorities, actively engaging where customers are located and not solely where internal stakeholders are present.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape to develop a unique positioning grounded in product realities.
• Set the benchmark for platform and API/MCP product excellence within the product team, focusing on problem framing, evidence-based prioritization, and outcome measurement. Elevate standards through your own contributions and influence rather than through direct reports.
• Guide product managers in platform and agentic thinking, functioning in a dotted-line, lead-through-influence capacity rather than as a direct people manager.
• Over 10 years of product management experience, with a proven history of delivering products at an enterprise scale.
• Proven ownership of API and platform products: you have defined and held responsibility for developer-facing API surfaces or extensibility layers as product decisions, supported by written specifications.
• Demonstrated ownership of non-functional requirements: you have successfully launched products where scale, performance, reliability, or security were product specifications you managed, rather than delegating these responsibilities to engineering.
• Experience catering to both human and programmatic or agentic consumers, or a strong record in related areas. Familiarity with agent frameworks or MCP-style surfaces is advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS products in regulated sectors. You understand the implications of delivering software where incorrect outcomes can result in legal or regulatory liabilities.
• A history of leading through technical authority and influence without formal reporting lines. You have established direction and standards that others adhered to due to the quality of your work, not merely your title.
• Exceptional written communication skills. You produce product specifications that engineering can utilize and strategic documents that executives can implement. You recognize the distinction between these types of documents.
• Experience working within a cross-functional framework alongside Engineering, Design, and Data Science as collaborative peers, rather than as service providers.
• Healthcare insurance: We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a flexible spending account allowing you to allocate pre-tax dollars for eligible out-of-pocket expenses.
• Stock options.
• Personal time off: We prioritize a healthy work-life balance for your success at work. Smarsh provides a "take-what-you-need" time off policy, as well as flexible work arrangements.
• 401K Match: Smarsh offers a 4% 401K match, with employees fully vested from day one.
• Sabbatical: The Smarsh sabbatical program offers an opportunity to recharge, study, or pursue a passion outside of work, available to employees after six years of service.
• Recognition: We place significant value on acknowledging outstanding performance. Our employee recognition program allows colleagues to nominate peers who exemplify our core values for recognition.
