Senior Product Engineer – Software/Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and design digital products utilizing contemporary tools, technologies, frameworks, and systems.

• Implement a systematic approach to applying scientific and technological knowledge, methods, and experience throughout the design, implementation, testing, and documentation phases of software.

• Take ownership of applications in production and guarantee success by achieving measurable outcomes.

• Provide support to the Enterprise Payments organization for the seamless processing of payment solutions.

• Engage in iteration planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, ensuring the team shares a mutual understanding of tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of software development experience with Java and J2EE technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring IOC, Spring Annotations, Spring AOP, Spring Transactions, and Spring Security.

• Proficient in working with REST APIs, including tools for documentation (Swagger), versioning, service discovery/registration, and testing.

• Strong understanding of database design, including index design, complex queries, and implementation on any relational database using SQL.

• Solid grasp of software development concepts and object-oriented design principles.

• Experience in creating products under Test Driven Development, including familiarity with testing frameworks such as Junit, Selenium, JBehave, and BDD.

• Knowledge of continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, with experience using tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Groovy, SonarQube, Gradle, or Maven.

• Experience in developing Java-based services and implementing observability with Datadog or similar tools.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker, for deploying and managing microservices.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum or eXtreme Programming (XP) environment.
