This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop, maintain, and scale platform-level back-end services to enhance and deliver our Data and AI functionalities for both internal and external clients.
• Utilize these Data and AI functionalities to create and deploy new features within the core Arbor product suite.
• Take ownership of the successful implementation of high-impact features, contributing directly to the progression of Arbor products.
• Lead the development and execution of advanced testing for both new and existing features, ensuring robust test coverage and reliability standards.
• Proactively identify, take responsibility for, and resolve critical system bugs and issues, employing advanced problem-solving abilities and extensive system knowledge.
• Uphold high standards of code quality through comprehensive, constructive code reviews, ensuring solutions are thoroughly tested, scalable, and maintainable.
• Create well-architected, efficient, and scalable code by applying leading industry design patterns and methodologies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and diagrams that promote best practices and facilitate clear communication.
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, QA Engineer, and Product Manager to address feature requests.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with interviews, scrum ceremonies, and the execution of strategies aimed at enhancing product quality and lead time, showcasing a thorough understanding of the development lifecycle and its processes.
• Support the Tech Lead in formulating technical roadmap solution designs, identifying areas for improvement, and prioritizing as well as executing the reduction of technical debt.
• Serve as a role model for technical excellence through code reviews, pair programming, and actively mentoring and coaching mid-level and junior engineers in best practices, fostering knowledge transfer within the team.
• Proactively lead and engage in tech talks, workshops, and team-based learning initiatives.
• Proven experience in developing back-end services using Python.
• Prior experience in implementing features using PHP.
• Familiarity with enterprise solutions and large-scale systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and best practices for data modeling and performance optimization.
• Established experience in managing significant technical projects and delivering high-quality, impactful outcomes with minimal oversight.
• Experience in designing and writing APIs and services within a service-oriented architecture.
• Effectively applies best practices and software engineering principles (e.g., SOLID, DRY).
• Knowledge of software best practices, including refactoring, writing clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Test Automation.
• Familiarity with Scrum methodology or other agile development processes.
• Demonstrates leadership through collaboration, mentorship, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A motivated team player who actively engages in discussions and willingly offers assistance to others.
