Senior Product Designer, Developer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create an engaging experience for the developer console and API documentation, covering account setup, API keys, usage, billing, and rate limits.

• Develop and launch playground tools, quick starts, and code samples that enable developers to test endpoints and outputs prior to writing integration code.

• Transform new models and endpoints into clear, well-documented interfaces as the platform evolves, keeping up with a rapidly changing API landscape.

• Work closely with platform engineering to design authentication, webhooks, and other technical processes in a way that developers can easily grasp.

• Contribute to visual and interaction consistency between the developer platform and other products at Runway.

• Set the overall design vision for the developer platform and provide mentorship to other designers involved in this area.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience designing products aimed at developers, with a platform or tool you have successfully launched.

• Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly interfaces that developers can utilize without needing to reference a manual.

• Experience in creating flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UIs for web applications, showcasing strong visual design capabilities.

• Proven track record of delivering and iterating quickly in close partnership with engineering teams.

• Willingness and adaptability to iterate frequently and efficiently.

• Enthusiasm for collaborating within small teams, fostering a design culture, and establishing a design-oriented process within the organization.

• Familiarity with the creative tool sector and a genuine interest in how developers work with generative AI.

• Experience in developing functional prototypes utilizing AI tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, etc.).

• At Runway, having artistic and creative abilities (especially in video/audio editing, icon/typography design, illustration, etc.) is always considered a plus.
