Senior Product Designer – Design System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to become part of our Design System team, focusing on our Real Estate offerings.

• You will be instrumental in advancing our design system, assisting designers and engineers throughout the organization to create and develop with enhanced consistency, quality, and speed.

• Define the behavior, states, and variants of components, collaborating directly with engineering to implement them.

• Manage and enhance the contribution model: the processes and standards that enable designers outside the core team to propose and implement components without compromising system integrity.

• Assist in design tasks from problem identification to documentation and handover, utilizing research and team feedback to guide decisions.

• Produce clear documentation and specifications that address variants, edge cases, and usage guidelines.

• Work closely with engineers on token strategy and the practical relationship between Figma and production code.

• Address conflicts between a tribe's immediate requirements and the system's long-term coherence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining a design system at scale, rather than merely documenting one.

• Experience in managing or contributing to a contribution model, or a well-defined perspective on how to construct one.

• Strong technical understanding: you grasp how your decisions translate into code and collaborate with engineers as equals, not just as a handoff.

• Keen judgment on trade-offs: knowing when to maintain consistency and when to allow for exceptions.

• Excellent communication skills, able to defend design system choices to stakeholders with differing priorities, while engaging other designers instead of dictating to them.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and a keen interest in applying them in tangible ways to enhance speed, quality, and consistency.

• A portfolio showcasing strong product and systems thinking, with proof of impactful deliveries, not merely documented patterns.

• Experience using Figma, including component libraries, variables, and tokens, along with experience in producing built or coded prototypes.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineers to achieve high-quality, scalable outcomes.

• Experience or a strong interest in AI-assisted design or development workflows.
