Senior Product Designer – Design System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• UI Craft & Visual Excellence: Uphold an outstanding standard for layout, typography, color, spacing, visual hierarchy, and the overall digital aesthetic across all reusable elements.

• Component Architecture: Design, construct, and sustain resilient component libraries (buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, tables, etc.) that scale effortlessly across products.

• Interaction & Motion Design: Establish interactive behaviors and state transitions (e.g., hover, focus, disabled, loading, and mobile behaviors) to ensure components are engaging and intuitive.

• Design Token Management: Organize and oversee design tokens (colors, spacing, typography, border-radius, shadows) to foster consistency between design environments and code.

• Figma Library Architecture: Arrange intricate variants, properties, and components within Figma to enable other product designers to work efficiently and accurately.

• Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to address technical constraints across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native app environments.

• Documentation & Governance: Develop clear, comprehensive guidelines and documentation that explain when, why, and how components should (and should not) be utilized.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Design System Track Record: Significant experience in building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems rather than merely standalone product features.

• Cross-Platform Expertise: In-depth understanding of the constraints and guidelines governing various platforms, including Web, iOS, and Android.

• Systems-Thinking Mindset: A portfolio that illustrates how individual design decisions affect multiple products, support sustainable scaling, and enhance designer/engineer workflows.

• Front-End Alignment: Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and utilize components in code repositories.
