Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the browsing, quoting, and booking processes from start to finish as we venture into new supplier categories, including accommodations and cruises.

• Identify the reasons why advisors are not utilizing current integrations and address the UX challenges that hinder their engagement, ensuring increased booking volume through Tern.

• Develop the framework for supplier discovery and quoting within Tern's agentic AI by defining the browsing and quoting patterns through Chat.

• Regularly communicate with advisors to incorporate their actual workflows and motivations for using supplier portals into the product design.

• Collaborate closely with the integrations PM and engineers to determine what's technically feasible with partner APIs and organize the development of deliverable versions.

• Contribute to shaping the design processes at Tern as the team grows: including critiques, systems, rituals, and future recruitment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in 0→1 product design on complex platforms: You have successfully launched significant products from inception to completion in a startup or dynamic environment, including creating new products from the ground up, rather than just enhancing existing flows.

• Ability to design within real constraints: You adeptly navigate UX, technical, and business trade-offs, crafting an excellent experience within the limitations of legacy UX and third-party APIs. You understand when to advocate for the ideal solution and when to prioritize shipping for learning.

• Strong product intuition and rapid execution: You operate swiftly and practically, managing multiple projects at various stages, delivering value without waiting for flawless inputs.

• Flourishes in uncertainty and takes ownership of outcomes: You proactively seek clarity, take initiative, and directly incorporate users' feedback into your work.

• Passionate about AI-enhanced workflows: You continually strive to expand your impact by experimenting with and integrating new tools into your design process.

• Bonus points: Experience in designing integrations, marketplaces, or booking/quoting tools.

• Bonus points: Background in travel technology or another field characterized by complex third-party data and supplier/partner APIs.
