This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the comprehensive design process for intricate, high-impact features.
• Produce high-quality designs swiftly, utilizing AI tools such as Claude and Lovable.
• Develop user-friendly interfaces that distill large, complex datasets into straightforward insights that inform critical decisions.
• Effectively present substantial amounts of predictive data without overwhelming users.
• Create and uphold design systems that maintain consistency across the product lineup, collaborating with fellow designers on design systems and best practices.
• Enhance designs by applying design best practices.
• Convert complicated user workflows into polished digital experiences.
• Conduct design reviews and work in tandem with cross-functional teams.
• Impact the product roadmap through design insights and user advocacy.
• Organize and execute user research with a variety of stakeholders.
• Generate user journey maps, personas, and scenarios tailored to wildfire and extreme weather risk mitigation contexts (for both short-term and long-term planning).
• Share concepts with customers and gather feedback directly from them.
• Collaborate with Customer Success to identify user pain points and refine solutions.
• Establish UX metrics and frameworks for measuring design effectiveness.
• Leverage AI to automate repetitive tasks, allowing more time for high-value design work.
• Empower non-designers to utilize AI-driven prototyping and design tools to speed up iteration and discovery.
• Collaboratively investigate with your team members how AI is transforming the overall product development process.
• Define the UX vision and strategy for the products you manage.
• Work with other designers to advance design patterns and best practices.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to synchronize design efforts with business objectives.
• Clearly present designs to senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
• Innovate methods to display multi-layered geospatial information such as fire behavior, weather patterns, and infrastructure data.
• Create information-rich interfaces that facilitate decision-making.
• Establish visualization standards for temporal data illustrating fire progression and risk evolution.
• Design dashboards that condense complex analytics into clear, actionable insights.
• Over 8 years of experience as a Product or UX Designer, with significant time spent in a senior or lead capacity.
• Experience in designing geospatial interfaces, mapping applications, or GIS-based systems.
• Expertise in Figma (required), along with practical experience using Jira and AI-driven design tools like Lovable, Claude Design, or similar.
• Skilled in prototyping tools and rapid iteration workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complex data and workflows into user-friendly experiences.
• Primary focus in Product Design (UX/UI/prototyping) with additional strengths in research, information architecture, and front-end code.
• Experience in utility, energy, GIS, or other complex enterprise environments.
• Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in data visualization and intricate information architecture.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
