This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the design process from inception to launch and iteration within a key product area, ensuring seamless transitions without any specs being handed off.
• Transform complex, high-stakes operational and financial workflows into intuitive experiences that foster user trust.
• Play an active role in shaping the product roadmap and strategy by providing a strong, user-focused perspective — influencing decisions rather than merely executing them.
• Rapidly transition from sketches to interactive prototypes and polished, production-ready designs, utilizing prototyping to validate concepts and align the team.
• Conduct light, self-directed research and engage directly with churches and nonprofits to affirm direction and gather insights.
• Develop and refine Overflow's design system, laying down the foundations, patterns, and guidelines that enable a small team to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences efficiently.
• Engage in design critiques, offer and receive constructive feedback, showcase work during product leadership reviews, and help define the design process at Overflow as the team expands.
• 5–7 years of experience in product design, demonstrating a history of successfully delivering products from concept to completion on both mobile and desktop platforms.
• A portfolio showcasing robust product thinking alongside outstanding visual and interaction craftsmanship, with a keen eye for the details that contribute to a thoughtfully designed product.
• Proficiency in designing intricate systems and workflows, rather than just standalone screens — preferably in B2B, SaaS, fintech, or similar fields with comparable complexities and stakes.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and independently manage projects in a dynamic, high-autonomy setting.
• Proficient in prototyping tools (Figma is a must) and capable of articulating nuanced design decisions through interactive prototypes.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills — capable of crafting a compelling narrative and vision that resonates with engineers, PMs, and leadership.
• A collaborative and humble approach: supportive, enhances the abilities of others, and views feedback as a source of growth.
• Competitive base salary with the opportunity for equity.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents.
• Generous paid time off along with recognized company holidays.
• Paid parental leave policy.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
• A dedicated mental health and therapy stipend to promote personal well-being.
• Team retreats and purposeful in-person gatherings throughout the year.
