This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define the user experience for our digital product, which includes creating process artifacts like User Journeys, Interaction patterns, task-flows, sketches, wireframes, and Visual Design.
• Take charge of transforming ambiguous or qualitative customer feedback into actionable design hypotheses and workflow enhancements.
• Actively identify friction points in the product experience; highlight design issues before they are formally assigned to you.
• Utilize AI-driven prototyping tools (such as Claude, Replit, Figma Make, and similar) to swiftly create interactive prototypes for rapid feedback loops with stakeholders and customers.
• Convert AI-assisted prototypes into high-fidelity, developer-ready designs in Figma, ensuring that engineers can adopt and implement designs with minimal confusion.
• Pose the right questions to stakeholders and customers from the outset—uncover the design inputs that matter and eliminate distractions to effectively prioritize.
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX Research to pinpoint friction points in the mortgage lender workflow and facilitate design reviews in those areas.
• Seek opportunities to address problems in unique and innovative ways while helping to maintain visual and brand consistency across all products and platforms.
• Develop functional prototypes to validate and test your designs.
• 3–5 years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating genuine ownership—not merely the execution of someone else's vision.
• Proficiency in Figma is essential—candidates lacking strong Figma experience will not be considered; must be capable of producing polished, component-consistent, developer-handoff-ready designs.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma Make, Replit, or similar) for rapid prototyping; comfortable transitioning quickly from concept to testable artifact.
• A self-motivated mindset: you identify issues independently, develop a perspective, and pursue solutions actively.
• Proven ability to independently interpret ambiguous customer or stakeholder feedback and convert it into structured, actionable UX improvements.
• A genuine curiosity about the product and its users—you ask questions that others might overlook and seek deeper answers rather than settling for superficial responses.
• Strong communication skills—the ability to confidently present design decisions, ask insightful questions during stakeholder reviews, and foster alignment without being overly directive.
• A solid foundation in UX design and design thinking principles; capable of managing your own workflow and deadlines with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
• A portfolio that exemplifies real problem-solving—not just aesthetic polish—across digital product experiences.
• Familiarity with mortgage lending workflows, underwriting processes, or fintech products is advantageous, but a strong desire to learn the domain is paramount.
• Comfort with JIRA and Agile environments.
• Flexible work arrangements.
• Professional development opportunities.
