Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the design process for growth surfaces throughout the customer lifecycle, collaborating closely with the Growth PM to identify friction points, conduct design experiments, and enhance conversion, retention, and revenue.

• Create growth loops and lifecycle experiences that include referral mechanics, pricing and packaging surfaces, and features that enhance usage on both sides of the marketplace.

• Manage multiple workstreams efficiently, knowing when to dive deep into craftsmanship versus when to prioritize speed and delivery.

• Contribute to and uphold Nivoda's design system, ensuring consistency and quality across the team while elevating the standards for design coherence throughout the product.

• Conduct lightweight user research through interviews, usability tests, and session reviews to base design decisions on actual user behavior rather than assumptions.

• Collaborate directly with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and promptly; you will be involved in the build process rather than just handing off specifications.

• Utilize data and experimentation to support design decisions: analyze funnel metrics, work together on A/B test design, and apply results to refine designs.

• Clearly articulate design rationale to stakeholders, adapting your explanation from concise summaries to detailed presentations based on the audience.

• Integrate an AI-informed perspective into your workflow, whether by leveraging AI tools to expedite ideation and prototyping or considering how AI features can ease user friction.

• Provide mentorship to junior designers on the team and foster a culture of excellence in craftsmanship and constructive feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of product design experience, accompanied by a portfolio that showcases robust UX thinking, high-fidelity UI craftsmanship, and tangible product impact.

• Demonstrated experience in designing complex, data-dense, or catalogue-heavy products such as marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, search engines, or similar.

• Proficient in both UX (flows, information architecture, usability) and UI (visual design, design systems, interaction details).

• Proven ability to deliver designs rapidly in close collaboration with engineers, thriving in a fast-paced environment while making design choices that do not impede development.

• Experience in conducting or contributing to user research and translating qualitative insights into actionable design decisions.

• Proficient in Figma (or similar tools) and comfortable working with or contributing to a component-based design system.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of narrating the story behind design decisions as effectively as creating the designs themselves.

• Located in or willing to commute to Boston regularly for in-person collaboration.
