Senior Product Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the legal point of contact and subject matter expert for our StreetEasy and New Construction business divisions.

• Support encompasses all facets of the product development lifecycle, including product design and copy, marketing materials, vendor contracts, customer service scripts, data usage and privacy considerations, as well as disclosures and terms of service.

• Integrate with business partners to provide tactical and pragmatic legal guidance for special initiatives.

• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional business teams to identify and address unique legal issues.

• Examine proposed and enacted legislative changes that affect assigned products.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, particularly for key strategic partnerships.

• Work closely with other internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of relevant experience at a national or regional law firm or within an in-house legal department, ideally at a tech company.

• Juris Doctor degree with active admission to the state bar.

• Proficient in licensing, marketing, intellectual property, and commercial agreements.

• Familiarity with real estate regulatory frameworks, the New York real estate market, and the national builder landscape is preferred.

• Strong aptitude for innovative and goal-oriented problem-solving.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Impressive attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and excellent drafting and negotiation skills.

• A project-management mindset towards owning projects.
