Senior Product Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Document business rules and transform them into automated data-quality checks.

• Generate exception dashboards and expand the data-quality catalogue to accommodate new systems and functionalities.

• Examine warehouse, read-replica, Prometheus, and product-event data to uncover anomalies.

• Diagnose data issues across CRM systems, databases, Grafana logs, CDC topics, pipelines, and applications.

• Integrate new data sources and perform one-time analyses utilizing Python and Redshift; transition persistent pipelines to data engineering.

• Create CRM business and product dashboards using canonical warehouse tables along with standard metric and dimension definitions.

• Develop CRM system-reliability dashboards employing PromQL and the existing metrics infrastructure.

• Set up business-metric alerts and validate key metrics post-releases.

• Establish a shared taxonomy for issues and analyze issue-related data.

• Assess the customer and financial impact of issues and downtime.

• Conduct analyses on usage, funnels, cohorts, feature adoption, and A/B tests using application data and Firebase.

• Ensure that application events trigger correctly and convey intended meanings.

• Work closely with product managers, backend engineers, data engineers, and product users.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering.

• Over 4 years of relevant experience in product analytics, data quality, or business intelligence.

• Experience in a field where inaccurate data incurs costs—such as lending, payments, fintech, insurance, logistics, SaaS, or e-commerce operations.

• Proven ability to identify and resolve problems that were not explicitly requested.

• Significant hands-on experience with SQL against complex production data, and strong proficiency in Python.

• Familiarity with Redshift or another columnar warehouse, Postgres databases, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

• Proficient in using BI or dashboarding tools, preferably Looker, with enough skills to build and maintain a production dashboard set relied upon by others.

• Experience in managing A/B tests and conducting funnel and cohort analyses.

• Practical experience with Google Analytics and Firebase, not merely theoretical knowledge.

• Knowledge of how to extract data from sources not yet in the warehouse—such as APIs, vendor exports, or production databases—and load it yourself to answer specific questions. Experience with AWS (RDS, S3) is a plus; querying ELB logs is an added bonus.

• Proficiency in PromQL, or similar tools in Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic, to create system reliability dashboards.

• Understanding of how to utilize AI tools to create minor automations and dashboards outside of the BI tool.

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce impact memos that prompt action from engineering and finance teams, along with documentation useful for future teammates.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable collaborating across teams without direct authority, and the patience to present evidence-based cases rather than relying on volume.

• Nice to have: Understanding of change data capture and event streaming (Kafka)—sufficient to comprehend replication lag, but not necessarily to construct the pipeline.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of data quality frameworks such as dbt tests, Great Expectations, Soda, Monte Carlo, or similar.

• Nice to have: Experience in pay-as-you-go, asset finance, microfinance, or emerging-market lending.
