Senior Process Engineer – Gas Handling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Acting as the subject matter expert for gas and RNG systems to provide immediate support for optimization, troubleshooting, and overcoming constraints in existing facilities.

• Offering both routine and ad hoc guidance to site teams managing current RNG facilities.

• Identifying, scoping, and developing projects aimed at improving existing systems.

• Leading the design development for gas handling and upgrading facilities for ongoing projects as well as those planned for the future.

• Issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) and overseeing the selection of technology and vendors for gas handling equipment, including upgrader units, flares, blowers/compressors, analyzers, etc.

• Collaborating closely with vendors, contractors, and other internal teams throughout the development of project scopes, ensuring smooth integration with the overall plant operations.

• Creating commissioning plans and assisting with facility commissioning and start-up processes.

• Engaging in commercial and regulatory discussions while staying informed about evolving standards.

• Comprehending the effects of product specifications, customer requirements, permit conditions, and renewable energy credit programs on the design of Diverts RNG facilities.

• Evaluating alternative and/or innovative methods for biogas utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Over 5 years of experience in the design or operation of gas upgrading/renewable natural gas production facilities.

• Strong leadership capabilities, independent thinking, exceptional organizational and planning skills, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.

• Proven excellence in both written and verbal communication.

• A desire to grow within a progressive and entrepreneurial organization.
