This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise the creation, upkeep, and support of technical infrastructure, encompassing network, hardware, database, and system software components.
• Facilitate portfolio-level Principal meetings to ensure alignment, consistency, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with leadership on decisions regarding build-versus-buy technology options.
• Develop proofs of concept with emerging technologies and assist in portfolio adoption.
• Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost reduction and enhancements.
• Serve as an escalation point for teams encountering highly complex challenges.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to supported teams.
• Collaborate on annual and mid-year performance reviews, offering constructive feedback.
• Attract, retain, develop, and inspire top talent.
• Partner with Distinguished Engineers to define technological solutions and align team strategies.
• Identify and eliminate roadblocks and bottlenecks in cross-functional projects.
• Influence technology roadmaps while fostering thought leadership and innovation.
• Escalate and assist in the resolution of high-priority issues and outages.
• Assist project, product, and support teams with technology-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with vendors to identify and implement enhancements to software features.
• Encourage effective utilization of tools and technology among local teams.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Minimum educational requirement: high school diploma and/or GED.
• At least 9 years of relevant work experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with platform tools and technologies, including Kubernetes and projects associated with CNCF.
• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
• Should possess expertise in one programming language or significant knowledge across multiple infrastructure domains.
• Demonstrated mastery in assigned domains.
• Capability to quickly comprehend complex systems.
• Active involvement in or leadership of professional organizations related to specific domains.
• Experience in developing and promoting comprehensive technology strategies.
• Preferred qualifications include 7–9 years of relevant experience and 2–3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with SQL Server and Oracle is advantageous.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices.
• Remote/Virtual work arrangement.
• Overnight travel generally limited to 5%–20% of the time.
