Senior Principal Software Developer – AI Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML and generative AI applications for cybersecurity operations and enterprise applications.

• Oversee technical architecture, development, testing, security, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, AI agent development, and production operations.

• Provide mentorship to engineers and establish standards, patterns, and best practices for development.

• Assess emerging technologies and spearhead innovation initiatives.

• Incorporate cybersecurity controls, secure coding practices, and data protection measures into AI applications and development pipelines.

• Create solutions for threat detection, alert triage, vulnerability analysis, identity analytics, and risk scoring.

• Implement intelligent automation and agent-driven workflows for cybersecurity operations.

• Design pipelines and analytics solutions for logs, telemetry, and security data.

• Deploy and manage scalable AI solutions utilizing Kubernetes, containers, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Integrate AI applications with enterprise and cybersecurity tools, including SIEM, SOAR, IAM, and data platforms.

• Ensure compliance with AI governance, regulatory requirements, and secure SDLC practices.

• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, architecture, cloud, infrastructure, data, and AI governance teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience in Software Development.

• 8+ years of experience in production support and design of Cyber Security technologies.

• 8+ years of operational experience with security technologies.

• 8+ years of comprehensive expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.

• Preferred: 10+ years of software development experience in building enterprise applications, platforms, and services.

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, SQL, PowerShell, and various scripting languages.

• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven services.

• Familiarity with agentic AI, Claude code, copilots, RAG architectures, and LLM orchestration frameworks.

• Experience in implementing AI governance, model risk management, and security guardrails.

• Capability to build and maintain a centralized AI agent registry.

• Experience in developing user interfaces and operational dashboards.

• Familiarity with implementing cybersecurity tools.

• Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, and IAM tools.

• Understanding of data engineering, streaming analytics, and log/telemetry processing.

• Experience in integrating applications with IAM platforms, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, scoped tokens, service principals, managed identities, and role-based access controls.
