This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Lead the establishment of technology roadmaps and long-term strategic initiatives for High Voltage Power Semiconductor device platforms.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive opportunities.
• Assess and guide the alignment of device technologies with customer needs and application requirements.
• Generate intellectual property through patents and technical publications.
• Act as the company's technical authority on critical device and technology challenges.
• Oversee intricate technology development projects from initial concept to production launch.
• Employ TCAD and other modeling tools to create innovative device architectures.
• Define, assess, and develop new device concepts and technology platforms.
• Address complex process integration and manufacturability issues.
• Tackle critical yield, reliability, and process-related challenges.
• Facilitate technical problem-solving workshops and design reviews.
• Offer technical evaluations and guidance for strategic development initiatives.
• Establish best practices for power semiconductor development and troubleshooting.
• Mentor and nurture R&D engineers across various semiconductor device disciplines.
• Assist teams in advancing next-generation device concepts and technologies.
• Enhance organizational competence in device physics, TCAD simulation, and power semiconductor technologies.
• Provide strategic technical guidance for technology investment decisions.
• Work closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Marketing, Applications, and Operations teams.
• Report technical progress, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support strategic customer engagements involving advanced technology assessments and technical discussions.
• PhD in Semiconductor Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 15 years of R&D experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing setting.
• Direct experience with high-voltage (>1000V) IGBT and MOSFET technologies.
• Familiarity with wide bandgap semiconductor technologies is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge in device physics, TCAD simulations, process integration, reliability, and characterization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology development efforts and resolve challenging technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various functions and organizational levels.
