This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee and manage electrical products or systems for data centers, HVAC, and energy storage applications.
• Create specifications, select components, route wires and cables, establish connections, and transition designs to manufacturing.
• Direct electrical engineering design processes, conduct reviews, implement testing procedures, align equipment, and validate results.
• Execute PLD design, component selection, wire and cable sizing/routing, and establish connections.
• Review vendor drawings and prepare BOMs, calculations, data sheets, detailed drawings, specifications, and test plans.
• Interpret single-line and schematic diagrams, assess electrical system operations, and recommend modifications.
• Collaborate on designs for electrical power distribution equipment, including low-voltage switchgear, power distribution cabinets, and LV panel boards.
• Prepare and review short-circuit coordination studies and maintain software models to reflect as-built conditions.
• Evaluate control panel designs and ensure compliance with UL standards.
• Interface with design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, controls engineering, and system architecture teams.
• Work alongside project managers on design quotations and identify as well as mitigate project risks.
• Monitor the quality of product delivery and adherence to schedules.
• Support manufacturing processes and maintain relationships with electrical component vendors and contract manufacturers.
• Stay updated on technologies and methods; suggest R&D project ideas.
• Assess engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with management and production staff.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in mission-critical facility designs.
• Familiarity with electrical systems utilized in data center environments, energy storage systems, or HVAC applications.
• Background in electrical power, including low- and medium-voltage systems, switchgear, distribution systems, AC/DC systems, hardware specifications, hardware interfacing, and power management tools.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical specification development, component selection, and system integration.
• Experience with wiring and cable management systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design; AutoCAD Electrical and Creo Schematic are preferred.
• Experience with PLD design, transformers, breakers, relays, UPS, ATS, wire and cable sizing/routing, and connections.
• Capability to perform vendor drawing reviews and prepare technical documentation.
• Skill in reading and interpreting single-line and schematic diagrams.
• Experience with power distribution products and equipment, testing products against current codes and standards, and translating designs into manufacturing drawings.
• Familiarity with Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure standards and regulations such as NEC and IEC is preferred.
• Knowledge of Windchill and DevOps is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; creative, self-motivated, accountable, and team-oriented.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as part of a global team.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical procedures, regulations, professional journals, and business publications.
• Skill in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides.
• Ability to present information and respond to management, clients, and public queries.
• Capacity to influence others, share best practices, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and develop project milestones.
