This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Create and sustain R packages that assist the clinical trial team by supporting data engineering, statistical analyses, automation, and reporting workflows.
• Design, construct, and implement Shiny applications for interactive dashboards and tools for data exploration.
• Collaborate with statistical programmers, statisticians, and clinical reporting teams to gather requirements and convert them into efficient, reproducible code and tools.
• Utilize AI in a responsible manner to enhance product design and development, emphasizing reliable, explainable, and impactful applications in development workflows and solutions.
• Lead the implementation of tools through demonstrations, pilot projects, training, and ongoing support.
• Engage with users to identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement and modernization of user experience.
• Exemplify best practices in data science and software development.
• Document tools and processes to facilitate modernization in an inclusive manner.
• Show a willingness to engage with open-source communities for collaboration in external environments.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative or computational science or a related field.
• Proven experience as an R developer.
• Extensive expertise in data manipulation (tidyverse) and data visualization (ggplot2, plotly).
• Proven capability to develop production-grade R packages, accompanied by thorough documentation and robust testing frameworks.
• Practical experience in deploying and maintaining R applications within production settings.
• Highly skilled in Shiny app development and deployment.
• Extensive knowledge of software development best practices (virtual environments, git, CI/CD, code reviews, etc.).
• Practical experience applying AI and agentic methodologies to enhance the productivity of data-driven applications.
