This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Utilize automation engineering expertise and collaborate with various organizations to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Manage all stages of project execution from initial concept through to deployment and adoption.
• Offer technical direction on the development of intricate automation architectures.
• Conduct thorough safety risk assessments and implement multiple layers of safety controls.
• Organize, prioritize, and oversee several automation projects simultaneously.
• Lead cross-functional teams to guarantee successful deployment in live production environments.
• Prioritize assignments to ensure optimal use of team resources and adherence to deadlines.
• Stay updated on Industry 4.0 technologies and integrate them into project proposals.
• Provide expert-level support for hands-on programming of automated control systems and robotics as needed.
• Mentor engineers within the team or operations on the development and maintenance of automated manufacturing systems.
• Communicate effectively with operations, management, and technical leadership regarding proposals and ongoing projects.
• Generally requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with at least 10 years of relevant experience, unless restricted by local laws/regulations.
• Practical experience with industrial robotics, including formal training on at least one major platform (e.g., FANUC).
• Proven experience in implementing and/or supporting PLC, SCADA, MES, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions within a manufacturing context.
