This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• You will develop and sustain dependable automation that engages with real-world web portals and third-party systems—where accuracy, traceability, and security are just as critical as speed.
• Take charge of the design, development, and execution of web-portal automation workflows utilizing Playwright (and associated tools).
• Create automation services primarily using Python, with significant additional development in TypeScript.
• Implement evaluation and validation processes (“evals”) to assess automation precision, identify regressions, and enhance reliability over time.
• Uphold rigorous audit-trail practices: deterministic logging, event traces, artifacts, and reproducible runs for debugging and compliance purposes.
• Design automation with a focus on security, adhering to best practices for managing sensitive workflows and data.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and product stakeholders to convert ambiguous real-world processes into practical, deployable automation.
• Enhance resilience against common automation challenges (such as dynamic UIs, flaky states, rate limits, authentication flows, and partial failures) while ensuring systems remain maintainable.
• Extensive experience in building production-grade systems using Python and TypeScript.
• Practical experience with Playwright or similar browser automation frameworks (like Selenium or Puppeteer), preferably for large-scale portal automation.
• A “pragmatic shipper” mentality: you emphasize delivering reliable, functional software over research-heavy methodologies.
• Proficiency in constructing systems with robust observability: structured logs, metrics, alerts, and efficient debugging processes.
• Experience in creating or maintaining automated testing/evaluations, quality gates, and release protocols.
• Strong understanding of secure engineering principles (such as secrets management, least privilege access, secure authentication patterns, and safe handling of sensitive information).
• Bonus points for experience working in compliance-focused environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
• Familiarity with designing audit-ready systems (including traceability, change management, and access logging).
• Experience in automating complex, multi-step workflows across various vendor portals with inconsistent user experiences.
• Experience in fortifying automation against adversarial or fragile UI behaviors (such as captcha-like flows, frequent UI modifications, and bot detection constraints) in legitimate and compliant ways.
• Competitive salary (commensurate with level and experience) + equity + paid time off.
• Comprehensive benefits package (customized to your location).
• The chance to have a meaningful impact on people's lives.
• A collaborative, remote-first work culture.
