Senior PowerBuilder Developer – Financial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Analyze, develop, and enhance PowerBuilder solutions with an emphasis on performance, stability, and modernization.

• Act as a technical reference and engage in the team’s technical decision-making processes.

• Identify potential risks and suggest improvements to current solutions to boost performance.

• Integrate the system with new software components, including REST integrations.

• Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the ongoing evolution of systems.

• Comprehend client requirements and pursue straightforward, high-quality, and scalable solutions.

• Take part in Kanban agile ceremonies.

• Prepare and carry out system deployments.

• Address impediments that affect the team's deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in transactional environments utilizing SQL Server.

• Expertise in optimizing stored procedures, triggers, and functions, focusing on performance and set-based processing.

• Proficient in robust error handling.

• Capability to analyze and interpret execution plans to detect bottlenecks.

• Skilled in optimizing server-side routines (SQL/DataWindows) and client-side routines in PowerBuilder.

• Proficient in using DataWindows and DataStores.

• Knowledgeable in structured exception handling.

• Proficient in transaction control and integrity, including transaction objects, commit/rollback, SQLCode validation, and ensuring atomicity.

• Experience with REST integrations, API consumption, JSON serialization/deserialization, and the use of HttpClient/RESTClient (PB 2019+).

• Experience in preventing, identifying, and resolving memory leaks.

• Proficient in Git, version control, branching, pull requests, and collaborative best practices.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including failure log interpretation.
