This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Coordinate PTR service technicians and equipment to execute on-site transformer services, including new unit installations, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades.
• Lead the on-site team comprising assigned crew members and subcontracted services.
• Conduct daily morning tailboards with crew members and/or customer representatives.
• Facilitate daily end-of-day tailboards with crew members and/or customer representatives.
• Identify and communicate any EHS/HSE issues associated with the work being performed.
• Provide daily status update reports outlining team activities, unit conditions, delays, or other critical operational matters related to site tasks conducted by GE PTR teams.
• Operate and manage vacuum processing rigs and related equipment.
• Conduct or oversee the field testing or commissioning of relevant units.
• Ensure that test technicians adhere to required commissioning standards and submit test results to engineering for evaluation and confirmation.
• Annotate and revise drawings for 'as built' documentation to accurately reflect changes made to the OEM design.
• Engage in the development and enhancement of standard procedures related to transformer services.
• Offer technical support in the preparation and submission of technical documentation.
• Collaborate with both internal and external customers to formulate inspection criteria related to transformer services.
• At least 10 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical expertise related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment, such as high voltage breakers, switchgear, and related devices.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on Power Transformers or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent 10 years of experience in PTR installation and repair.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Leadership experience in a dynamic, high-pressure work environment with direct customer interaction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in site management and field service.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Skills in resource scheduling and forecasting necessary activities.
• Capacity to predict equipment needs for specific job execution.
• A CDL license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
