This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Coordinate PTR service technicians and equipment to execute on-site transformer services, including new unit installations, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades.
• Lead the on-site resources of the assigned crew members and any subcontracted services.
• Conduct daily morning tailboards with the crews or customer resources.
• Facilitate daily end-of-day tailboards with crews or customer resources.
• Identify and report any EHS/HSE concerns related to ongoing work.
• Provide daily status update reports that detail team activities, unit status, delays, or any other critical operations related to the site tasks performed by GE PTR teams.
• Operate and control vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment.
• Perform or oversee the field testing or commissioning of related units.
• Ensure that test technicians adhere to the required commissioning standards and submit test results to engineering for review and confirmation.
• Annotate and edit drawings for 'as built' to accurately document changes made to the OEM design.
• Engage in the development and enhancement of standard procedures related to transformer service.
• Offer technical assistance in preparing the submission of technical documents.
• Collaborate with external and internal customers to develop inspection criteria associated with transformer services.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• A minimum of 10 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical expertise related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment, such as high voltage breakers, switchgear, and related devices.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, specializing in Power Transformers or HV/MV apparatus, or equivalent experience of 10 years in PTR installation and repair.
• Leadership experience in a dynamic, high-pressure work environment with direct customer engagement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in site management and field service.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Skills in resource scheduling and forecasting required activities.
• Capacity to anticipate equipment requirements for specific job execution.
• CDL license preferred, or the willingness to obtain one.
