This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Create and sustain power system control philosophies for mission-critical facilities.
• Develop, manage, and govern Sequences of Operations (SOO), Cause & Effect Matrices, Interlock Schedules, Alarm Philosophies, Failure Maps, and Operating Modes.
• Formulate and assess Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Design Specifications (SDS), and control system functional narratives.
• Address inconsistencies between SOO, flowcharts, Cause & Effect matrices, and software implementation across all operating modes.
• Convert electrical design intentions into actionable ACMS, PLC, and SCADA control strategies.
• Conduct thorough reviews of control logic, software flowcharts, automation narratives, and system architectures.
• Execute technical evaluations of power system resilience, redundancy, and operational risk.
• Assist with FMEA and reliability evaluations while analyzing transient conditions, restoration sequences, and failure scenarios.
• Create and maintain FAT, SAT, IST, and commissioning test procedures for power system automation and control systems.
• Confirm automation logic and operational scenarios through simulation, testing, and commissioning activities prior to deployment.
• Aid value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance of solutions.
• Evaluate commissioning outcomes and assist in resolving issues.
• Contribute to the advancement and enhancement of engineering standards, tools, and processes.
• Provide technical input for proposals and bids to support Business Development teams as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Communicate effectively and proactively with internal teams, clients, and partners.
• Serve as a technical liaison between Engineering, Integration, and Operations teams.
• Assist project leadership in identifying risks, solving issues, and ensuring delivery alignment.
• Recognize and escalate technical risks, constraints, or changes in scope promptly.
• Comply with company policies, QMS requirements, and established safety standards.
• Enhance and support the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, controls engineering, automation, or system integration.
• Proven experience in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, including data centers, utility power systems, generator power plants, industrial energy facilities, or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with generator control systems, electrical power distribution, SCADA systems, and power system automation.
• Background in design, testing, commissioning, and operational support of critical power systems.
