Senior PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Provide expert support to customers’ DBA teams facing complex challenges.

• Collect relevant information and analyze issues to deliver comprehensive evaluations.

• Write engaging blog posts on compelling topics for the open-source community.

• Respond to inquiries on forums and develop new entries for the customer-facing knowledge base.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive, hands-on, expert proficiency in MySQL or PostgreSQL, encompassing provided tools and standard software in the associated ecosystem.

• Knowledge of tools and technologies such as Percona Xtrabackup, mydumper, HAProxy, ProxySQL, among others for MySQL.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies like pgvector, repmgr, Patroni, pgBouncer for PostgreSQL.

• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes, covering deployment and troubleshooting tasks.

• Proven experience in database performance tuning, server configuration, and query optimization.

• Verifiable experience in managing Linux systems.

• Capability to troubleshoot systematically and implement solutions for known issues.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to enhance skill sets.

• Willingness to travel internationally for occasional team meetings or conferences.

• Proficient in English communication, both spoken and written.
