This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +36 more states.
• Lead the drafting of forms for a specific line of business.
• Take ownership of the architecture for personal auto or property base forms.
• Oversee the development of new state packages from research to filing, including attorney review.
• Draft intricate new-state and product forms packages, which include base policies, endorsements, state amendatory endorsements, and mandated notices.
• Construct and maintain nationwide base forms and reusable state kits.
• Investigate state statutes and regulations, translating them into compliant policy language.
• Prepare responses to Department of Insurance objections and engage in regulatory discussions with legal counsel.
• Manage drafts from initial research to the final version approved by attorneys.
• Set drafting standards and establish reusable language.
• Facilitate internal knowledge sharing regarding policy forms.
• Act as a backup drafter for other lines of business.
• Utilize and assess AI-assisted research and drafting tools, evaluate generated outputs, and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain and update forms packages in response to legislative changes, regulations, DOI bulletins, product advancements, and coverage modifications.
• Deliver multiple comprehensive forms packages for filing.
• Act as the subject matter expert for policy forms within the designated line.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting policy forms.
• Proven experience in drafting personal lines policy forms across multiple states.
• Ability to read state insurance statutes and regulations directly, translating requirements into policy language.
• Experience in drafting responses to regulator objections regarding form filings.
• A successful history of independently drafting complete forms packages, with attorney review as the sole check.
• Demonstrated capability to navigate complex or ambiguous statutory requirements with minimal supervision.
• Experience with personal auto or property policy forms is preferred.
• Must be able to live and work full-time in one of the specified eligible U.S. states.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
