📋 Description

• Acadia Center is on the lookout for a Senior Policy Advocate to concentrate on energy and climate policy initiatives in northern New England, with a particular focus on Maine and New Hampshire.

• This role will help advance Acadia Center’s objectives at both regional and state levels, encompassing multi-state and cross-border initiatives.

• The position is crucial in advocating for Acadia Center's regional and state priorities to facilitate the promotion and implementation of energy and climate policy advancements.

• Key responsibilities include advocating for policy reforms, engaging with stakeholders, drafting materials, conducting technical analyses, public speaking, media engagement, and coalition building.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of presenting information succinctly and effectively to key decision-makers and the public.

• Experience and enthusiasm for shaping data and analysis to enhance advocacy materials.

• Proven track record of clearly conveying complex regulatory or technical concepts to a diverse audience, both in written and verbal forms.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to forge effective alliances to promote shared goals.

• A commitment to and passion for sustainable energy, climate initiatives, consumer rights, and energy justice.

• Interest in managing a varied workload while collaborating with supervisors and teams to develop work plans and schedules.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

• A J.D. or Master’s degree is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• The anticipated salary range for the Senior Policy Advocate is between $90,000 and $102,000 annually.

• The role is intended to be either a full-time, exempt salaried position or available as a contract role.

• Residency in New Hampshire or Maine is required, along with access to state policymaking forums.

• Travel to regional forums and internal meetings will be necessary.
