Senior Platform Engineer – Security Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and enhance cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Automate system configurations through tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Integrate infrastructure with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Acquire experience with policy as code frameworks such as Open Policy Agent and HashiCorp Sentinel.

• Transform high-level security requirements into actionable policy as code implementations across both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Provide support for automated security controls in Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, and various operating systems.

• Keep abreast of trends in infrastructure management and automation to ensure a robust and scalable system foundation.

• Evaluate, prioritize, triage, and address security findings.

• Contribute to the Mondoo Platform, focusing on its policy engine, resources, scalability, and multi-region capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Proficient in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Strong understanding of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with its core services.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes technologies.

• Proficient in scripting with at least one programming language, such as Python or Bash.

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and DNS.

• Experience utilizing version control systems like Git.

• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in security policies and automation.

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms are preferred.

• Familiarity with Open Policy Agent or HashiCorp Sentinel is preferred.

• Knowledge of compliance standards such as CIS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 is preferred.

• A portfolio or repositories on GitHub/GitLab showcasing security policy implementation, policy as code, and relevant cloud security tools.

• Must be based in Germany or Bulgaria and authorized to work there.
