This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Leverage and enhance Ansible-based deployment automation to support smooth product feature releases, following established TechOps peer-review protocols.
• Oversee application-level health within the cluster, working closely with TechOps on incident response and conducting post-mortems for engineering-led deployments.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation, deployment runbooks, and developer self-service guides are maintained to optimize engineering onboarding and release workflows.
• Act as a vital representative of Engineering in platform design: Collaborate with TechOps to define engineering self-service workflows, guardrails, and standards.
• Standardize application-level configurations: Partner with TechOps to create clear engineering standards for ingress, RBAC, namespacing strategy, and secrets management.
• Lead phased application migrations: Collaborate with engineering teams to containerize and transition existing workloads to Kubernetes, beginning with non-critical environments to build confidence before migrating business-critical systems.
• Develop robust deployment pipelines: Create CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes-based deployments (utilizing Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, or similar) with automated guardrails to ensure rapid, repeatable, and secure code delivery.
• Establish application observability: Implement application-level metrics, logging, and alerting within the namespaces, guaranteeing engineering teams have the insights they require to monitor workload health.
• Generate developer self-service documentation: Document deployment runbooks, manifest templates, and best practices to enable engineers to onboard and self-serve safely within the established guardrails.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills: we prioritize a people-first culture where teamwork is essential. In highly technical projects with numerous moving parts, the ability to collaborate openly, communicate effectively, and engage others is as critical as technical expertise.
• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible: including roles, inventories, vault, idempotency, and more.
• Proficient with Docker and Docker Compose in production settings.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Strong scripting capabilities: proficiency in Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools: ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with observability tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager, or equivalent).
• Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically: our stack is real-world, not idealistic, and we seek someone who can deliver iteratively while working with existing systems and planning towards the optimal state.
• A methodical, security-focused approach.
• 25 days of annual leave in addition to public holidays.
• Enhanced Parental Leave: 6 months of full pay for birth parents, 4 weeks of full pay for non-birth parents after one year of employment.
• 5 additional 'Partnerize Parental Days' each year.
• Private Medical and Dental Insurance.
• Enhanced pension contributions.
• Cycle to Work scheme.
• Eye Care Vouchers.
• Life Assurance.
• Enhanced Wellness Program, including access to EAP, Wellness Coaching & Wellness Programs.
• Regular company events and activities.
